Unwanted Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart could be ready for another foreign experience with Portuguese giants Sporting CP preparing an offer for him, the Record newspaper reports today.
31-year-old Hart has switched agents as he tries to secure a move away from the Etihad Stadium following a disappointing season on loan at West Ham which saw the London club decide against using their option to buy him.
Prior to that, he spent a year in Italy with Torino and could now be Lisbon-bound with Sporting making Hart their first choice to replace Rui Patrício, who is joining Napoli.
The main stumbling block – as we’ve heard so many times – could be Hart’s hefty salary, which has made it impossible for City to sell him on a permanent basis in the last two summers.
The Portuguese club hope that the presence of goalkeeping legend Iker Casillas at rivals FC Porto could help convince Joe to make some sacrifices and join them as he desperately seeks a new home.
Sporting plan to make their first offer for the former England number one, who has also been linked with Manchester United, in the coming days.
