Manchester City and Isco – it’s a love affair that refuses to die. Year after year, transfer window after transfer window since he famously changed his mind on a move to the Etihad in 2013, being lured to Real Madrid by Zinedine Zidane, the tricky Spanish playmaker has been linked with City.
The latest reports have come from Catalonia, with the Mundo Deportivo newspaper receiving information from somewhere that City chief executive Ferran Soriano believes he can unlock a deal for Isco at around €80million.
The rival newspaper in that area of the world, SPORT, refuted it a day later, with their own info stating that City believe Isco’s agent has spread the rumours because Gareth Bale has received more prominence of late.
So who better to ask than the manager of Manchester City himself?
At an event for the Johan Cruyff Foundation today, Guardiola was asked outright if Manchester City will sign Isco this summer.
Pep responded: “No! Manchester City will not sign Isco.”
Guardiola rotundo “El Manchester City NO fichará a Isco “.

And that should send the rumours on Isco packing, until January at least, when we’ll undoubtedly go again…
