Manchester City to avoid Spanish giants in 2018/19 Champions League group stage

Manchester City will finally be in Pot 1 of the Champions League group stage draw for the 2018/19 competition.

The Blues have found themselves in Pots 2 and 3 in the past, but now that the league champions of the top ranked associations instantly go into the first pot, they find themselves alongside some of Europe’s historic giants.

This means that City cannot draw Real Madrid (Champions League holders), Atlético Madrid (Europa League holders now also go into Pot 1), Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus or Paris Saint-Germain in the group stage.
