David Silva is a happy man. After a difficult year in which his baby boy Mateo was born extremely prematurely and had to fight for his life, David’s son was recently released from hospital and of course Man City lifted the Premier League trophy.
32-year-old Silva was often absent last season as he flew back to Valencia to check on Mateo, but the story had a happy ending with Mateo becoming well enough to leave hospital earlier this month.

And Silva has decided to pay tribute to his little boy’s bravery with a new arm tattoo. It includes an image of Mateo and has the words “Never Surrender”.
El Mago showed off the tattoo with his artist, who he thanked for his work.
