Manchester City are not planning to sign Real Madrid star Isco or Shakthar Donetsk’s Fred this summer, despite suggestions that Pep Guardiola could be back in for both.
Martin Blackburn of The Sun, a journalist who a top tier source for City transfer news, has revealed that neither midfielder is on the agenda, contrary to recent reports.
#Mcfc still not in for Isco this summer. And their interest in Fred cooled a while ago – so he’s no decision to make there.

The Isco story comes from Spain, specifically the Mundo Deportivo newspaper which has a cover story today claiming that Guardiola sees Isco as a man who can help the Blues to Champions League success.

However, despite links every (and we mean every) transfer window since the summer of 2013, it appears the gifted Spaniard is not in the current plans, even if he would seem like an ideal successor for David Silva.
Meanwhile, Fred is expected to join Manchester United, but comments made by him earlier suggested that he still had a choice to make between the Manchester clubs.
City are no longer pursuing the 25-year-old however, with Napoli pass-master Jorginho the chosen one to reinforce City’s midfield.
