Manchester City have made an offer to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta following his decision to leave the Catalan club, Italian journalist Matteo Pedrosi has claimed.
#ManchesterCity, contatto Guardiola-#Iniesta! Pep sta provando a convincere il centrocampista spagnolo, attratto da un'esperienza in Asia, con alcuni club cinesi e giapponesi interessati a lui. Il City ci prova, Iniesta riflette. pic.twitter.com/N59vBbYBDg

Iniesta was expected to move to Chongqing Lifan in the Chinese Super League but the move has fallen through. The 34-year-old has other offers from Asia which he considering, but Pedrosi claims he has been contacted by Pep Guardiola about joining Manchester City.
No further details are offered, such as if it’d be as a player or perhaps with a view to becoming a coach, but Iniesta is said to be ‘reflecting’ on the offer.
Mikel Arteta, one of Guardiola’s main assistants, is odds-on favourite to take over at Arsenal, meaning there will be a vacancy on Guardiola’s coaching staff that someone of Iniesta’s vast knowledge could potentially fill.
Iniesta was a key part of Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering Barcelona side. However, the midfielder has stated before that he will not join another European club to avoid potentially facing Barcelona, something that could be an obstacle for City – assuming this reported offer is real.
