Joe Hart is set to return to Manchester City after Sunday’s conclusion to the Premier League season to discuss his future, the Sunday Telegraph reports.
West Ham have decided not to activate their option to buy Hart, 31, leaving Pep Guardiola with an issue having made it clear from the day he arrived at the Etihad Stadium that fan favourite Hart wasn’t suitable for his style of football.
With a hefty salary and one year left on his contract, City will again struggle to land a transfer fee for Hart and may have to loan the England international out for one more year unless a buyer can be found.
Hart has had an indifferent season at West Ham, leading to the London club choosing not to buy him, and lost his place to Spanish stopper Adrián for a big chunk of the season.
In total, Joe has made 23 appearances for the Hammers this season, starting 19 of their 37 games in the league.
When asked if a decision had been made on Hart’s future, Pep Guardiola said on Friday, ““No. He’s going to come back here and, I think his manager (agent) is going to speak with the club and they’re going to decide.”
