Manchester City youngster Luka Ilić has flown to Amsterdam and is expected to be shown around the facilities of CFG partner club NAC Breda ahead of a possible loan switch next season.
Ilić, 18, was signed by City from Red Star Belgrade last summer in a €5million double deal with his younger brother Ivan, 17, and the two were immediately loaned back to the Serbian side.
Luka, a central midfielder who scored on his debut for Serbia’s under-21 side against Austria in November, is now in the Netherlands and will get to see his potential loan club.
A deal isn’t definite yet. A year ago, City sent five talents to Breda, including Cameron Humphreys, Rodney Kongolo and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, who eventually went elsewhere on loan. However, the other two with them, Thierry Ambrose and Paolo Fernandes, did spend the 2017-18 season at the Rat Verlegh Stadion along with Pablo Marí, Angeliño, Manu García and Thomas Agyepong.
According to B-Side Rats, Luka Ilić will be one of four to six Man City youngsters who will spend next season at the Eredivisie side. There is no word yet on what the plans are for his younger brother, Ivan, and if he might too head to the Netherlands.
