Manchester City (and its fans!) sure know how to celebrate title wins. Pitch invasions, parties and other scenes of joy have been common after each of City’s three league triumphs, but this year City have truly gone global and upped the ante.
The club has released a video showing exactly what they did hours after Vincent Kompany lifted the trophy. 25 cities were lit up with images projected on to ‘personal locations’ – communities where their football talents were first developed – of the City players across the world.
A list of locations in the video: Brussels (Belgium), Ghent (Belgium), Essen (Germany), Gelsenkirchen (Germany), Radomyshl (Ukraine), Manchester (England), Stockport (England), Barnsley (England), Sheffield (England), Bradford (England), London (England), Paris (France), Agen (France), Santpedor (Catalonia, Spain), Arguineguin (Spain), Malaga (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Bicas (Brazil), Jardim Peri (Brazil), Osasco (Brazil), Londrina (Brazil), Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Manchester City’s first-team squad features players from all across the world and these images, sent to three continents, show just how diverse the playing squad is.
