Kevin De Bruyne sets a whole new standard for assists after 100th appearance

Kevin De Bruyne made his 100th Premier League appearance for Manchester City in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town and no other player has registered as many assists at the same point in league history.

De Bruyne, 26, has 43 assists after his first 100 games in England’s top flight and according to Opta, that is more than any other players has managed after a century of appearances.

Former Manchester United star Eric Cantona ranks second on 39 assists, while Mesut Özil also fared well in his first 100 showings with 36 games.

But KDB, who received his first Premier League medal with City yesterday, has set a whole new standard for setting up goals and has become English football’s great assists man.
