Pictured: Pep Guardiola and Man City bosses spotted in Italy – but why were they there?

The bigwigs of Manchester City are rarely pictured together, but a photograph courtesy of Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio shows the entire group of City’s main chiefs – minus the seldom seen Sheikh Mansour – together.

So where was this photograph taken, why were they together, and who is Alberto Galassi?

The last question needs to be answered first, because Alberto Galassi, an Italian businessman and lawyer, has been a non-executive director of Manchester City since June 2014. Galassi has also been Chief Executive Officer at Ferretti S.p.A. since May 2014 and Chief Executive Officer of Piaggio Aerospace since February 2009.

Galassi is considered an ‘excellent advisor’ by Khaldoon, especially because of his vast experience in international management.

That leads to the where and why they are all pictured together. The photograph was taken in Italy, after Galassi invited his colleagues to celebrate Manchester City’s Premier League title triumph.

Their stay began in Bologna before they travelled to Modena, the home region of Galassi, where they were fortunate enough to visit the home of Enzo Ferrari, founder of Ferrari, the famous car company. His home is described as an ‘unmissable stop for car and art lovers all over the world’.

Fans may be disappointed to learn that the trip wasn’t transfer-related, particularly as Napoli midfielder Jorginho continues to be linked with a move to the Etihad, but it shows the camaraderie that exists even in the upper ranks of Manchester City Football Club.

Meanwhile, a video of Pep and Khaldoon with famous Italian chef Massimo Bottura has also surfaced from Modena.
