Revealed: The EIGHT Premier League records Manchester City could still break

Manchester City are the Premier League champions for 2017/18, but may well also go down as one of the greatest sides to ever grace the Premier League.

Many records have already fallen or been remade by Pep Guardiola’s ‘Shark Team’ this season, but some of the biggest ones could still be reset with just five games to go.

Here are the EIGHT records that City could still realistically break, with some more achievable than others, but none impossible.

1. Biggest points winning margin

Currently: 13
Record: 18 (Manchester United 1999/00)

2. Most points

Currently: 87 (15 to play for)
Record: 95 (Chelsea 2004/05)

3. Most goals

Currently: 93
Record: 103 (Chelsea 2009/10)

4. Best goal difference

Currently: +68
Record: +71 (Chelsea 2009/10)

5. Most total wins

Currently: 28
Record: 30 (Chelsea 2016/17)

6. Most away wins

Currently: 14 (2 to play)
Record: 15 (Chelsea 2004/05)

7. Most away points

Currently: 44 (6 to play for)
Record: 48 (Chelsea 2004/05)

8. Most assists

Currently: 15 (Kevin De Bruyne)
Record: 20 (Thierry Henry, 2002/03)

If City needed any motivation to keep going after clinching the league title, those records should serve as plenty, for they could make this team achieve immortality. The Invincibles? Maybe not, but how about The Centurions if they hit 100 points, a feat never achieved before?
