The Etihad Stadium will be in a joyous mood this weekend when Manchester City host Swansea in the first game since Pep Guardiola’s men were crowned 2017/18 Premier League champions.
Despite the long-expected title win being made official, City still have five fixtures to get through and if they needed any motivation, they could still break a number of Premier League records.
The referee for City’s game against struggling Swansea has today been named as Craig Pawson.
This will be Pawson’s fourth Premier League appointment of the season for City – and the others were all wins, over Stoke (7-2), Huddersfield (1-2) and Tottenham (4-1).
Pawson was also in charge of the Carabao Cup final in which City thrashed Arsenal 3-0 to lift the trophy.
It will be the Yorkshireman’s third Swansea game of the season, after being in charge of their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace in December and 2-1 defeat to Stoke a few weeks prior.
