Bobby Duncan, the highly-rated teenage cousin of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, is set to link up with his family member in the summer following a contract dispute with Manchester City.
The 16-year-old, who is tipped to go far in the game, hasn’t played any club football this season because of contract issues with City, but has continued to represent England at youth level.
And according to journalist Alan Nixon, come the summer after he turns 17, Duncan will join Liverpool with City due to receive a modest compensation fee of around £200,000.
It will be another example of a hot prospect quitting City after Jadon Sancho left for Borussia Dortmund last summer in an £8million deal, despite being in Pep Guardiola’s long-term plans.
Duncan isn’t as far along in his development as Sancho, but is another top prospect to leave the City Football Academy – although many more remain in one of the hottest talent factories in world football.
