São Paulo have revealed that no offer has arrived from Manchester City for highly-rated defender Éder Militão, Brazilian source Globo Esporte reports.
The 20-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester City by the Daily Mail on Wednesday, with a £20million valuation mentioned.
On Thursday, the Mirror claimed that Chelsea had also entered the race for Militão, a former Brazilian youth international, with Manchester United (of course), Borussia Dortmund and FC Porto also keen on the youngster, who has been used mainly as a right-back lately, but can also play as a centre-back and defensive midfielder.
According to Globo Esporte, São Paulo sources have confirmed that they haven’t received any bids yet from City or anyone, but admitted they would sell the player if an offer of around £20million was to arrive.
Militão is an out-of-the-blue target for City, but the CFG’s South American operation has expanded in recent years, leading to the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Douglas Luiz arriving straight from the continent, rather than after another European club has developed them, as has so often been the case in previous years.
