Manchester City could clinch the signing of Jonny Evans from West Brom for just £3million if they decide to pursue the Northern Ireland international for a third transfer window running.
According to the Mirror, centre-back Evans is ready to snub rival interest from Arsenal to finally join Pep Guardiola’s side should they go again for him, which isn’t a certainty given that Aymeric Laporte was signed in January and other defenders may now be on the radar.
At just £3million, a clause that becomes valid if – more likely when at this point – West Brom are relegated, City could be tempted to bring in the experienced Evans though, having come close to a £20million deal for him in the past.
Former Manchester United player Evans is still based in the north west and that is part of his reasoning for preferring a move to City over Arsenal.
The Mirror reports City were just £2million off a deal for Evans in January and now must decide if to take advantage of his relegation get-out clause.
