Manchester City are monitoring the situation of Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti, Dean Jones of Bleacher Report reports.
Hearing that United won't have it all their own way if they push ahead with an attempt to sign Samuel Umtiti — Man City watching the situation

The 24-year-old is being heavily linked with City’s neighbours Manchester United amid reports of a contract stand-off with Barcelona that means he is yet to extend his contract beyond 2021.
More relevantly, it means Umtiti still has a €60million (£52.2million) release clause that represents excellent value for a player of his quality – so if he was to decide to leave Barça, the Catalan club would be powerless to stop him.
There will be natural suspicion that the alleged interest of Manchester City and Manchester United is being used by his agent to get the player a better deal, something which we have seen before with the likes of Lionel Messi and Ivan Rakitic, but if Umtiti really does fancy a move to England it could spark a battle between the Manchester giants.
The French international has emerged as one of Europe’s most talented young defenders in the last couple of years following his €25million move from Lyon to Barcelona in 2016, and he has made 78 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga champions-elect since arriving.
