Manchester City will NOT lift the Premier League trophy tomorrow should they beat Manchester United on derby day, according to various reports.
Many Blues would have been hoping for a dream scenario of City beating United to win the title then lifting the trophy – but only half of that is possible on Saturday.
City will have to wait almost a month to receive the trophy should they clinch the league against Manchester United, as Premier League regulations state that the trophy is handed out towards the end of the season.
That would normally be after the final home game, but with that being a late midweek kick-off against Brighton on Wednesday May 9, the trophy is likely to be lifted by Vincent Kompany after the Huddersfield Town game on Sunday May 6.
Manchester United fans will be allowed out of the ground straight after the final whistle tomorrow in an attempt to avoid any trouble between the blue and red sides of Manchester.
