Watch: Pep Guardiola ironically lays into Liverpool security staff after coach attack

Footage has emerged of Pep Guardiola ironically laying into Anfield security staff before yesterday’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.

City’s coach was attacked by hooligans from the Liverpool fan base, who threw bottles, cans and pyro at it, and eventually making the bus undriveable. Liverpool have since posted a public apology on behalf of their involved fans.

Guardiola wasn’t happy at how little local police and security did to control the situation and arriving at Anfield, made his feelings clear in a passive aggressive “thanks” to local security.

A video posted by Spanish outlet Gol reveals some of the things Guardiola said. The video itself is geo-blocked (unless you have a VPN – set to Spain)…

… but here are four snaps of things he said to Anfield security staff.

1. “Thanks for protecting us.” (x2)

2. “Thank you very much!”

3. “I appreciate what you have done.”

4. “Shame.”
