Manchester City are set to take on Premier League rivals Liverpool during their pre-season tour of the United States, as reported earlier today.
Five days before the Liverpool game, which could take place at the MetLife Stadium, City will take on Bundesliga opposition in the form of Borussia Dortmund, according to an exclusive report by World Soccer Talk.
The US-based site has learned schedule details from a source, and reveals that the Blues, by then likely to be the Premier League champions, will face Dortmund in Chicago on July 25, after meeting Liverpool on July 20.
These matches will be part of the 2018 International Champions Cup, the pre-season competition that City have taken part in regularly in recent years.
Neither of these games are confirmed yet but with two sources now at least reporting City vs. Liverpool is happening in the States, it looks likely to happen.
If City do take on Borussia Dortmund, it will be interesting to see which side Julian Weigl lines up on after claims today that the German midfielder is now Pep Guardiola’s top transfer target for the midfield.
