City Summary – March 27: Jesus rejects latest contract offer, Betis eye Maffeo, three Blues score on international duty

Catch up on all of today’s Manchester City news with our City Summary!

Gabriel Jesus has rejected Manchester City’s latest contract offer and while there remains optimism of a contract extension from 2021 to 2023, talks have now been postponed until after the World Cup following three months of no agreement.

Real Betis are considering a bid for Pablo Maffeo in the summer, with the talented right-back facing an uncertain future as long as Kyle Walker and Danilo are at the club. Betis would surely have to pay more than the suggested €7m figure though.

A host of City stars featured in internationals tonight and three of them were among the goal scorers, starting with Gabriel Jesus. He has been goal shy at City of late, but scored the only goal as Brazil beat Germany 1-0.

Nicolas Otamendi’s header beyond David de Gea in Argentina vs. Spain proved to be a mere consolation as Messi and Aguero-less Argentina were soundly beaten, but he will have enjoyed it.

And Kevin De Bruyne was sensational for Belgium in their 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia, assisting goals for both Romelu Lukaku and Michy Batshuayi before capping off the win with a sublime strike of his own.

Before Otamendi’s goal tonight, he gave an interview with Marca in Spain where he spoke about his improvement this season and which City star he’d like to play for Argentina…

Finally, UEFA have announced some new rules and regulations for next year’s Champions League.

That’s it for today. Keep your eyes peeled on @City_Watch and the site, day and night, as we work to deliver the latest City news, views, and other high-quality content.
