Manchester City to play Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-final

Manchester City have been handed a two-legged clash with Premier League rivals Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-final round.

The first leg will be hosted at Anfield on Wednesday 4 April with the second and decisive fixture to take place at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday 10 April.

They are arguably the two most entertaining teams in English football at the moment and goals have flown in this season when they have met, with City beating Liverpool 5-0 at the Etihad, before Liverpool edged out the Blues 4-3 at Anfield more recently.

City avoided Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but also missed out on what might have been kinder draws against Roma and Sevilla, with Liverpool perhaps falling somewhere in the middle of the preferable options.
