Manchester City will be looking to reestablish a 16-point lead when they visit the bet365 Stadium this evening to face Stoke, but can expect Paul Lambert’s side, who sit in the relegation zone, to be up for a fight.
Pep Guardiola’s team can call upon the services of David Silva though, with the 32-year-old back in the fray after being given time off during the week.
Guardiola said in his latest press conference that El Mago will not be joining City in Abu Dhabi, and instead returning to Spain to check on his son Mateo, who was born extremely prematurely last year and has been ill.
Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez Haya has confirmed Silva’s availability against The Potters though, and expects him to start.
Raheem Sterling is also back from injury, but the England winger is only expected to make the bench after missing the last five games through injury.
David Silva trained in the weekend and is expected he starts today. Sterling trained in a good way too and is expected to be in the bench.
