Manchester City have been handed a £50,000 fine by the Football Association after ‘failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly’ fashion during the FA Cup defeat to Wigan in February.
An official statement from The FA reads:
“Manchester City have been fined £50,000 after admitting a charge of failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
The incident took place in their Emirates FA Cup tie against Wigan Athletic last month.”
The situation stemmed from Fabian Delph receiving a red card, which led to tensions spilling into the DW Stadium tunnel at half-time. Pep Guardiola and Sergio Aguero, who were involved in individual incidents, avoided any punishment from The FA.
