Referee appointed for Manchester City vs. Chelsea (4/3/2018)

Carabao Cup winners Manchester City face a tough week ahead back on the Premier League front as they look to keep up their big lead over neighbours Manchester United.

After this Thursday’s game against Arsenal at the Emirates, City host reigning champions Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon and will hope for a similar result to that of the reverse fixture.

Sunday’s big match now has a referee too, with Michael Oliver given the whistle.

City are flawless under the 33-year-old official this season, with league wins over Brighton, Arsenal and Manchester United under his watch.

The same can’t be said for Chelsea, who have had to make do with a couple of draws with Oliver as referee, those being at home to Arsenal and away at Liverpool.

Referee: Michael Oliver
