The FA has announced that Pep Guardiola has been charged for wearing a political message, specifically a yellow ribbon, which is in breach of The FA’s kit and advertising regulations.
The Manchester City boss has until 6pm on Monday 5 March 2018 to respond to the charge.
Pep has worn the ribbon for a long time now as a show of support for Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart, Catalan politicians who were imprisoned in October.
Guardiola has ignored two formal warnings from The FA, staying true to his beliefs, and has now been charged.
His support of the Catalan figures has even led to Spanish authorities checking his private plane and his daughter’s vehicle.
Spain's Civil Guard checked the private plane of Pep Guardiola's family when it arrived at Barcelona's El Prat airport, in search of Carles Puigdemont. It is also reported that they checked the vehicle in which Guardiola's daughter was travelling. Via @mundodeportivo https://t.co/Ce3fCU4BPq
