Arjen Robben knows Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola well, the two having worked together during the Catalan’s time in charge of Bayern Munich.
And in an interview with German outlet Sportbuzzer, the 34-year-old Dutchman was asked about Pep’s current City side and the man himself.
On the topic of City, Robben acknowledged their quality but added that nothing is won in February.
“Many say that Man City are currently the best team in Europe. That may be the case at the moment, but it doesn’t count when you’re in February, only when you hold the pot (trophy) in your hands.”
Robben couldn’t hide his admiration for Pep though, who won seven major trophies during his three seasons at the Allianz Arena.
“It’s really impressive what Pep has set up at City. We also know him very well, and I really enjoyed working with him. He’s a great coach.
“You can see that again now. If you look at the way they play, that’s the coach’s signature. That’s Pep’s work.”
