There were concerns this afternoon among the Man City fan base on social media after it was reported that club-record signing Aymeric Laporte had missed today’s training session before the squad’s trip to Switzerland.
The Blues face FC Basel tomorrow night in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 contest, and despite David Silva, Leroy Sané and Fabian Delph all training – welcome news after the injury problems of recent weeks – there was no sign of Laporte.
There have been some whispers of passport problems, but according to several journalists this afternoon, the 23-year-old will travel with the squad, suggesting that whatever the problem is, it’s nothing serious.
Aymeric Laporte is part of @ManCity travelling squad so whatever reason for not training this morning it’s obviously not serious

Laporte impressed on his City debut against West Brom on January 31, but had a few difficulties in yesterday’s 5-1 win over Leicester City, and he is likely to need some time to fully adapt to the Premier League.
