Manchester City player named in Gazzetta dello Sport ‘Team of the Week’

Despite what can be considered a slip-up, given Manchester City’s all-conquering form this season, at Turf Moor on Saturday, one player stood out enough to be recognised by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ederson, a revelation since his summer move from Benfica, has been named in the latest Team of the Week by the famous Italian newspaper for his heroics in City’s 1-1 draw with Burnley.

The 24-year-old made arguably one of the saves of the season, pushing a close-range Aaron Lennon shot on to the bar.

There was little he could do about Burnley’s late equaliser and all in all, it was another strong performance by the Brazilian.

Ederson was one of four Premier League players in the team, along with Mo Salah of Liverpool and Arsenal duo Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey.
