Mix Diskerud joined Manchester City in the January transfer window without so much as an announcement from his new club. It was Umbro, who the midfielder is affiliated with, who broke the news that the 27-year-old USA international had signed a 4 ½ year contract with the Premier League club.
Delighted to report the news that @MixDiskerud will further be cementing his relationship with Umbro in our hometown, as he proudly continues his footballing development with a 4,5y Manchester City FC contract. (1/3) pic.twitter.com/JEYJdjoTPZ

Prior to joining City, Mix had been on loan at Swedish side IFK Göteborg from New York City FC, and when his NYCFC deal expired, Manchester City took him on their payroll.
News today confirms that Diskerud is now back at Göteborg for the second half of their training camp as they prepare for the new Swedish season.

Sporting director Mats Gren said, “I initially asked Manchester City if we can have Mix with us during the second part of our training camp, and got their OK.
“Then we’ll see if it can mean an extension.”
Gren is hopeful that City will allow Mix to return on loan to the side he scored 5 Allsvenskan goals for last season, but for now he is just training with Poya Asbaghi’s side and a decision will be made later.
