Everton have completed a late loan swoop for Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala, who will spend the rest of the season at Goodison Park subject to clearance from the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has fallen further down the pecking order following the club-record signing of Aymeric Laporte, meaning Pep Guardiola now has an excess of options at centre-back.
Newcastle and Valencia also expressed interest in Mangala, but Sam Allardyce’s Everton have won the race and secured the former FC Porto man.
Speaking to Everton’s official site, Mangala said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play for Everton and I cannot wait to pull on the royal blue jersey for the first time and give my all for the supporters.”
