The 26-year-old has fallen further down the pecking order following the club-record signing of Aymeric Laporte, meaning Pep Guardiola now has six available options at centre-back, with two of them – Mangala and young Tosin Adarabioyo – available for loan today.
Newcastle and Valencia have also expressed interest in Mangala, but Rafa Benitez’s side have so far baulked at the loan fee and a return to Spain with Valencia seems unlikely.
