Experienced match official Martin Atkinson will have the whistle for this Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off between hosts Burnley and visitors Manchester City.
The 46-year-old has only taken charge of one City game this season, but it was a momentous one, the Blues’ 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge which saw Kevin De Bruyne’s unforgettable winning strike.
He has been a more familiar face for Burnley fans, having officiated three games for them this season with an even record – 1 win, 1 draw, 1 defeat. His most recent was their 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, a match in which he handed out ten yellow cards.
