After protracted negotiations, Edin Dzeko’s proposed return to the Premier League with Chelsea has collapsed, Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia reports.

Chelsea will be signing full-back Emerson Palmieri from Roma, but Man City fans will not have to fear their former player heading in a goal in front of the South Stand when City play Chelsea next, with the Bosnian failing to reach an agreement with Chelsea.
Dzeko, now 31 but having enjoyed some of the best form of his career in Italy, scored some of the biggest, most important goals in a new era of success for the club, finding the net 72 times in 189 appearances during his five seasons in Manchester.
He is now fondly remembered, particularly for his contributions in two Premier League title wins, and fans will be relieved that he won’t be lining up in a darker shade of blue with Chelsea.
