He was the first to report that Aymeric Laporte would be leaving Athletic Bilbao for Manchester City and Spanish journalist Uri Mora has today posted an update.
We already have several versions of this story, but given his big exclusive on El Chiringuito TV on January 22, Mora’s information on City’s incoming club-record buy deserves some attention.
He reported on Twitter that Manchester City will pay Laporte’s €65million (£57million) release clause tomorrow (Monday), consistent with what others have been reporting.
Furthermore, he said that Laporte’s move to City will be made official either on Monday or Tuesday, so it won’t be much longer until we see him lifting the sky blue shirt.

Laporte said his farewells to Athletic Club players and staff on Saturday after his final training session at the Instalaciones de Lezama.
The 23-year-old infamously U-turned on a move to City in 2016, when everything was arranged, but Pep Guardiola gave him a second chance to join the exciting project at Man City and Laporte couldn’t say no this time.
