Aymeric Laporte’s move to Manchester City isn’t quite done yet, but the question at this point is not if it will be, but when it will be.
SPORT journalist Pol Ballús appeared to jump the gun yesterday when he said City had paid Laporte’s €65million clause, concluding the deal.
That hasn’t quite happened yet, but according to the well-respected Moi Llorens, Blues chiefs finished all of the groundwork on the deal on Thursday. The clause has not been paid yet – but that will happen either on Friday or Monday, Llorens states.
El @ManCity acabó de trabajar hoy la operación Laporte. Aún no pagó. Abonará la cláusula del defensa mañana o el lunes. Lo tiene todo preparado. No hay lío.

The Diario AS and ESPN reporter adds that “everything is ready” and there will be no mess from here, with the deal now fully outlined and just requiring City to pay the clause.
Athletic Bilbao coach Jose Angel Ziganda confirmed today that he expects the 23-year-old to be available to face Eibar tomorrow night, with the player on the provisional 20-man squad list, of whom 18 will be selected in the matchday squad.
Regardless of whether Laporte lines up at the San Mamés tomorrow, unless of a serious injury he should be lifting up the sky blue shirt of Manchester City in the coming days as the new club-record signing.
