The 26-year-old revealed the news in a novel way, on an unannounced Facebook Live event, and it has now been confirmed by the club.

As exclusively revealed by City Watch on Saturday, the Belgian midfielder agreed terms last week and his contract was handed to lawyers for final approval.
De Bruyne will earn £200,000-a-week with bonuses and image rights potentially taking that beyond the £250,000-a-week mark. He snubbed interest from PSG and Real Madrid to remain in Manchester, where he is enjoying life with his young family.
City fans can now enjoy the flame-haired superstar for at least another half a decade.
