Catch up on all of today’s Manchester City news with our City Summary!

A host of stories in the Sunday papers suggested City are getting closer to a deal for Shakhtar midfielder Fred, although there is a chance that he will not formally join until the summer.

If Fred is a long-term successor for Fernandinho, could Lille youngster Boubakary Soumare be the man to replace Yaya Touré? More and more reports have surfaced of City being keen on the teenager, with Brian Marwood observing him during the week.

Speaking of Tuesday’s semi-final, it now has a referee, with Graham Scott being appointed for the second leg.
