After earlier reports that he has requested a move to an Austrian Bundesliga side, Manchester City-owned striker Olarenwaju “Larry” Kayode looks set for a switch to Ligue 1 instead.
According to a report by RMC Sport, Amiens are close to striking an agreement with City that will see 24-year-old Kayode head to the Stade de la Licorne for the remainder of the season.
Kayode, a Nigerian international, is currently on loan at Girona FC, but has struggled for game time there since he joined on loan following a £3.5million move to Manchester City from Austria Wien in the summer.
Amiens are currently just two points clear of the Ligue 1 relegation zone and hope adding Kayode can bring them some much needed goals – they have scored just 16 in 20 games so far this season.
RMC states that he could go directly to Amiens from Girona without even returning to Manchester should the two clubs finalise an agreement.
