City Summary – January 15: Alexis pursuit ends, Fred fancies City move, Bayern boss praises KDB

Catch up on all of today’s Manchester City news with our City Summary!

City’s involvement in the Alexis Sanchez saga finally came to an end today after a meeting involving Guardiola, Khaldoon, Soriano and Txiki. City then sent out a press briefing, not only saying they wouldn’t pay £35million to Arsenal and £350,000-a-week to the player, but revealing that Chelsea are now rivaling United for the Chilean.

Shakhtar midfielder Fred clearly fancies a move to City and the feeling may be mutual…

… however, any deal may have to wait until the summer with City seeming very relaxed about doing much business this month.

Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes rates Kevin De Bruyne as Europe’s best player by quite a margin.

He hasn’t been announced yet, but City winger Marlos Moreno is already training with his third loan club, Flamengo, after undergoing a medical in Rio de Janeiro.

It looks as though City will be playing a weaker Basel side than the one which beat Manchester United in November.

Despite talk of interest from Championship sides, Kean Bryan is heading back to Oldham on loan for the second half of the season.

Bersant Celina continues to impress at Ipswich and scored an absolute world class goal the other day. Mick McCarthy has spoken highly of the young City loanee.
