Olarenwaju ‘Larry’ Kayode could be on the move again this month, with the Manchester City loanee receiving offers to end his loan spell at Girona FC prematurely.
The 24-year-old forward, who joined City from Austria Wien in a £3.5million deal last summer, was the Austrian Bundesliga’s top scorer last season, but hasn’t found the net for Girona in the limited time given to him.
Pablo Machín has handed the Nigerian international 12 appearances in La Liga, only two of them starts, and in total he’s been on the pitch for just 375 minutes in Spain’s top flight, with another 25 minutes of game time in the Copa del Rey.
And according to L’Esportiu de Catalunya, Kayode has yet to return to Girona after the Christmas holidays due to ‘bureaucratic issues’. Girona want to keep him until the end of the season, but his future is increasingly uncertain.
Kayode is fearful that he’ll have no chance of making the Nigeria squad for this year’s World Cup unless he plays more, and it is said that he has offers from other clubs to relocate in the winter transfer window.
One of the interest clubs, according to Marca, is Bursaspor in Turkey, with claims that City are in talks with the mid-table Süper Lig side about taking Larry on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
