Kevin De Bruyne is relaxed about negotiations over a new Manchester City contract and has revealed that they are going slowly, but smoothly.
The 26-year-old is expected to become one of the club’s highest earners when he extends his deal, which currently runs until 2021.
Speaking to the press, an interview in which he made a curious comment about Alexis Sanchez, the flame-haired playmaker said: “I’m not in a hurry. I still have three-and-a-half years on the contract.
“We are still in negotiations. I am waiting for an offer from the club but my agent has been on holiday for three weeks.
“There is nothing really new. I cannot complain for the moment. Obviously we will see what happens.
“Negotiations are going good but they are going quietly. That is the way I think it should be.”
De Bruyne has been subject to interest from PSG and, as City Watch exclusively revealed in December, Real Madrid, but he is happy with life in Manchester playing for Pep Guardiola and currently has no interest in a transfer away.
The Belgian captained City on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Bristol City and is now viewed as one of the leaders in the dressing room. To date this season, he has 8 goals and 12 assists, and scored City’s equaliser last night.
