City Summary – January 5: Silva available for Burnley, Pep and Otamendi up for awards, 2018/19 third kit info

Pep Guardiola is up for a FOURTH consecutive Manager of the Month award, which would see him make history.

Nicolas Otamendi and youngster Javairo Dilrosun are also up for individual prizes.

Otamendi is also up for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award, along with Kevin De Bruyne.

At his pre-Burnley presser, Pep hinted that he’s going to field a very strong team tomorrow, while giving an update on who is available (more on Silva below).

Don’t say the ‘q’ word around the City boss though!

Earlier today, it was reported that David Silva had returned to Spain and would miss tomorrow’s game against Burnley. Then unexpectedly, he returned to Manchester and is now available to face the Clarets!

Remember the 2016/17 third kit? Get ready for something similar next season.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague doesn’t think City are too keen on Inigo Martinez, despite strong speculation that he could be Pep’s defensive recruit this month.

Shay Facey has ended a decade-plus stay at Manchester City by joining Northampton Town on a permanent deal. Good luck Shay!

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano is in India and attended a big Indian Super League game, raising speculation about a possible addition to the City Football Group from the region.

Later on Soriano commented, suggesting something is afoot.

Vincent Kompany wants ticket prices to drop and you’d be hard pressed to find a match-going fan who disagrees.

We reported a couple of days ago that youngster Aaron Nemane is heading to the Netherlands on loan with Go Ahead Eagles. He is now there – no announcement yet – and will take the number 22 shirt.

Finally, you have to go back NINE months now since City were last beaten in the league. Perhaps next weekend’s trip to Anfield will put this incredible unbeaten run to the test more than any game in that time.
