Bundesliga left-back plays up Premier League move amid Man City and Liverpool interest

He is fast becoming one of the Bundesliga’s most valuable left-backs and Philipp Max has revealed that a move to England is something he has always dreamed about.

The 24-year-old Augsburg star has recently been linked with a move to Manchester City and Liverpool, and while he has shown no urgency to depart the Augsburg Arena, he has spoken of his excitement at the possibility of a Premier League switch.

Speaking to SPORT BILD, Max said: “Since I was a kid, I have dreamed of playing abroad. I think the English league would go well with my straightforward style on the pitch. But other clubs can be attractive.

“But that is a topic for the future, I have a contract with FC Augsburg.”

The player is described by SPORT BILD as the ‘most coveted in the Bundesliga’ and his assists record this season reveals why:

There is no indication that City will swoop for a left-back in January, but with Benjamin Mendy out for much of the season and Fabian Delph having some injury problems of late, it is an idea that Pep Guardiola may explore before the end of the winter market.
