Manchester City have released an official statement on the condition of Gabriel Jesus after he was forced off injured against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
City’s statement reads:
Manchester City can confirm Gabriel Jesus suffered a medial collateral ligament injury during the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
He will undergo further examinations in the coming days to establish the extent of his lay-off.
We wish Gabriel a speedy recovery and we will keep you updated on his progress via the Club’s official channels.
After the Palace game, Guardiola said, “Gabriel will be out for a little more than one month, we hope.”
City have declined to give a time-frame for his return yet, with further information sure to follow in the coming days. Until the grade of his injury is known, an exact time out will be unclear, but he can expect to miss at one month of action.
Today I went through an image exam on my left knee that diagnosed a small medial colateral ligament injury! Thanks God, I won’t have to go through any surgery procedure. Thanks for all the fans support and positive thoughts! Happy new year! 2018 is going to be my year!!!🙌🏼🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/10n7JhFzPb
