City Summary – December 30: Alexis wants January move, David Silva update, 2018/19 away kit details

Catch up on all of today’s Manchester City news with our City Summary!

Firstly, the big news of the day. Alexis Sanchez is so desperate to leave Arsenal for league leaders Man City, he will try to force a move in January. City are content to grab him on a freebie in summer, but will this change plans?

Oops… they did it again. Manchester United dropped points and the chance to close the gap on City with a home draw against Southampton today. This puts Chelsea in second place, with City given the chance to make their lead 16 points tomorrow!

Still no sign of David Silva in Manchester, with the 31-year-old looking almost certain to miss Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace. ¡Buena suerte El Mago!

Are we ready to party like it’s 1999 next season? First leaks of next season’s away kit colour scheme have been revealed, and it certainly looks like it’ll have a 20th anniversary theme based on the famous ’99 kit.

Pablo Maffeo is the only one of five Manchester City loanees to have been a big hit at Girona FC this season. He’s handled Messi and Ronaldo well, so could he be in Pep’s plans soon?

Could Jonny Evans arrive at the Etihad Stadium before the end of January? He is one of the possibilities to reinforce the defence, and West Brom seem quite open to selling him for funds to replenish their squad with.

None of them still play for City, but three former Blues (and Gunners) could soon be playing together in Turkey, with Samir Nasri possibly on the move again.

Finally, we’re running our monthly City Watch Player of the Month vote on Twitter. ‘El General’ is in the lead at the moment, but be sure to cast your vote before tomorrow’s deadline!

That’s it for today. Keep your eyes peeled on @City_Watch and the site, day and night, as we work to deliver the latest City news, views, and other high-quality content.
