Alexis Sanchez is desperate to swap the Emirates for the Etihad in January and force through a move to Manchester City from Arsenal, Sam Lee of Goal reports today.
The 28-year-old, who saw his £60million deadline day move to City collapse last summer, has no desire to stay in North London for much longer and would like to join the league leaders next month.
After his move to City collapsed, City told his agent, Fernando Felicevich, that they would try again in January. However, given their form and Pep Guardiola’s reluctance to disturb the stability of his talented squad, City have been prepared to wait until summer and sign the Chilean international on a free transfer.
However, with the dressing room atmosphere involving Alexis at Arsenal becoming more hostile, Felicevich has been in contact with City chiefs in recent days, Goal reports, to make a case for a January deal.
Alexis wants to leave Arsenal immediately and should City not make their play in January, it’s possible that Paris Saint-Germain, who have a long-standing interest, could make a move for him in the New Year.
City would not be willing to pay more than £30million, half of the fee they agreed with Arsenal in January, were they indeed to make a bid next month.
