Manchester City have been boosted by the full return to first-team training of centre-back John Stones after a six week lay-off through injury.
The 23-year-old, who has emerged as one of Europe’s finest ball-playing central defenders, limped off after half an hour against Leicester City in November’s Premier League clash and has been sidelined since.
City have coped well without the Yorkshireman, with Nicolas Otamendi acting as a pillar at the back and Eliaquim Mangala enjoying some solid form.
Stones, who has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s team this season, was featured training in a video released by the club today.
