After it’s reboot and return last week, the City Watch Podcast returns for its second episode hosted by broadcasting legend Ian Cheeseman!
This time, Ian is joined by newcomers Ryan Corless and Anthony Chapman, plus the returning Emily Brobyn, to discuss what has been yet another memorable week in what is fast becoming a memorable season for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Two wins with two very different sides are discussed: the weekend victory over Spurs and the midweek Carabao Cup quarter final triumph over Leicester. There is praise for Ilkay Gundogan and much discussion about the youngsters on show, including Lukas Nmecha and Phil Foden. A point of discussion is whether all the hype could hurt Phil Foden by placing pressure on his young shoulders.
The team also discuss Pep’s tactics at length, how his style was retained even as he changed most of the team and fielded the next generation against Leicester. Ryan has some issues with some of the diving by City players of late, while Emily is annoyed at the refusal of rival fans to recognise City’s excellence, recalling how City fans would applaud the Invincibles.
