Manchester City, for the second successive round in the Carabao Cup, had to go through 120 minutes and win a penalty shootout to book their place in tomorrow’s semi-final draw.
For the second time in a month, Pep Guardiola’s men won at Leicester’s King Power Stadium, with a much changed side that included a host of academy products throughout the 120 minutes.
Claudio Bravo saved Riyad Mahrez’s decisive penalty to again make himself a shootout hero after his exploits against Wolves in the previous round.
And Pep Guardiola was visibly delighted after the win, running on the pitch and celebrating not only with his players, but the big away following that traveled for the midweek game.
In an amazing moment, Guardiola conducted and drummed along with his own song as Blues belted out ‘We’ve got Guardiola!’.
